Building Stronger Relationships

Our Commitment to Reconciliation

Brand Energy Solutions is on a journey to contribute to reconciliation and to build stronger relations with the Indigenous People surrounding the areas where we conduct business.

We are committed to working with Indigenous communities to create social and economic benefits through partnership and collaboration. We value the many unique partnerships we’ve been fortunate to develop to date throughout Western Canada — some that have lasted decades.

Building and sustaining these relationships is fundamental to our business. We focus on ensuring these relationships are built on trust, understanding and respect, and we recognize and are sensitive to the different cultural values and traditions of each community.

To ensure that the relationships are meaningful and beneficial, we utilize a number of initiatives including:

  • Allocating resources for relationship building
  • Creating a positive working environment, which fosters diversity, equity and inclusion
  • Ensuring consistent communication with our community contacts
  • Designing recruitment, retention, and skills development and training strategies

Our Indigenous relations efforts are guided by Call to Action #92 in the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canadas (TRC) report. Our Indigenous Committee is working on developing strategic action plans to ensure all levels of the organization are aware of Call to Action #92 and every employee is actively participating.

If you have any questions for our Indigenous Relations team or are interested in collaborating on initiatives with us, please email us.

Association Memberships

As part of our ongoing Indigenous engagement efforts and to ensure we are on the right path, Brand Energy Solutions is a member of several Indigenous associations. Involvement with these associations allows us to work with and learn from a team of individuals who share the same commitment towards local and Indigenous engagement.

We are proud members of the CCAB and in 2021 our team became PAR committed. PAR committed participation confirms our commitment to continual improvement in Indigenous relations and intention to undergo external verification of our performance in the future.
